The Keweenaw Peninsula is my favorite part of our state! With so many different things to explore - all of the historical sites, waterfalls, ghost towns and mining ruins, waterfalls, gorgeous beaches and views - you won't be bored!

I love the month of May! I love to give gifts (and receiving is fun too) and enjoy seeing the earth wake up from the brown and bare end of winter. The lime green of new leaves, bright pastels of tulips, the abundance of flowering trees, and days where we can feel the warm breeze of summer coming. 

Our vacation on AMI was a lovely, relaxed week with just enough activities to keep everyone happy. With beautiful views, wildlife, and great food, our week together was filled with good memories and would be great for couples or families with kids of any age.

Spring can give us hope - a tangible example that we can get through the hard, cold seasons and not just survive, but bloom. It reminds us that a season is temporary and they always change. Spring comes every year and there is beauty in that change.

Atlanta has an amazing food scene, beautiful parks and trails with a 22 mile loop around the city and 200+ acre park and botanical garden in the middle. Add in a ton of museums and historic sites, fun boutiques, quirky neighborhoods and markets, you get a great destination to visit without running out of things to do!

But if we, like Marie Kondo, only keep things that "spark joy", then I am going to keep the items around me that help me celebrate where we live and where our life has taken us. And yes that includes some of my home goods too. But the rest? It's time to start letting go.

I usually don't describe cities as quaint, but that does describe St. Augustine. Quaint and wonderfully historic, mixed with the ocean and beaches, and a variety of cultures and good food make a fantastic and relaxing week!

Perhaps this Valentine's Day, if you normally give a card maybe you shouldn't. Let's not do the expected, but instead offer to go for coffee or a walk and give your words in person. If giving a card isn't your style, maybe surprise them this year with one or a handwritten note. I'm excited at the thought of bringing a bright spot in the middle of February to those I love. 

This diverse, historic city really has it all - European-influenced architecture, a beautiful waterfront, unique shopping and amazing food. With its great art scene, diehard sports fans, and close proximity to the lake for outdoor enthusiasts, we ran out of time to enjoy it all!

This month you can get out and enjoy the beautiful aspects of the season and then come back to a warm home and get cozy. Either way this is a good month to make memories!
