Things I Love: June 2016
This past weekend my husband and I packed up some appetizers, lawn chairs and our dog Max and biked to our local waterfront park. Everyone was walking, relaxing (like us), or people watching (like Max). It was a gorgeous day and we were so happy to be able to just pack up a few things, throw them in a tote and go!
The tote we used was one of my new beach totes - we have to test out the merchandise! I'm such a sucker for the classic navy color and love it paired with aqua for summer. My husband pointed out that the tote matched my new shoes. Why not? I got these cute Adidas shoes for my birthday and they are actually water shoes, but so comfy to run around in!
Now days when I know I'm going to be in the sun, I'm always wearing a hat. My favorite one says Forever Lakegirl and that just about sums it it. Of course it has navy on it too, but it also comes in a ton of colors, so I may have to get another.
Since we were having a mini picnic, I got to use my new bottle openers and spread it all out on my favorite towels. I found these Turkish towels on Etsy a few years back and buy them directly from a weaver in Turkey. They are so soft and colorful, fold up compactly, are priced better than I have found them in stores, and directly support another small business owner. My teens weren't too crazy about them at first compared to a regular beach towel, but their softness and compactness has won out and now they grab them from our mudroom when they head out to the beach.
You know summer has officially arrived when you leave a beach tote packed and ready at the back door!
