Easy Ideas for Breakfast in Bed - Tandem For Two

Easy Ideas for Breakfast in Bed

My kids have always made me breakfast in bed on special occassions. It really is one of the ultimate ways to show someone you care and make them feel special. Breakfast in bed doesn’t have to be an elaborate meal or an overwhelming task. With some careful planning, easy steps and a few of my favorite things, you can pamper someone with breakfast in bed too!

Plan Ahead

Planning ahead very well may be the secret to easily pulling off breakfast in bed. Decide on a menu, make a list of all the items you need to make and serve breakfast, then prep all of the food (chopped fruit or veggies, baked good bought or made) and then gather the items these items the night before:

1. Large Tray

Whether it’s a tray with feet, one with handles, metal, ceramic or wood, find a large try that makes it easy for you to carry everything to the bedroom at one time and be less likely to spill.

2. Tea Towel

Line the tray with a tea towel and it will not only be pretty, but it will catch any spills as you carry it and serve.

3. Napkins

Include a cocktail napkin under the juice glass to catch drips and another one with the utensils.

4. Mug

Serve coffee, tea or hot chocolate to get your loved ones morning started right!

5. Juice Glass

Serve fresh squeezed juice in a vintage or fun juice glass as a special treat.

6. Greeting Card

Including a little note to say I love you is a great way to make someone feel extra special

7. Breakfast

What you serve for the meal doesn’t have to be fancy or even homemade, just the thought totally counts! Serve fresh fruit in a cup or on a skewer. Toast with jam, a muffin or scone is always welcome. If you want to get fancy, an omelet or poached eggs are nice but even humble scrambled eggs are welcomed when served in bed. Or try your hand at crepes, french toast, or pancakes instead.
