Sunsets on the Lake

There’s something enchanting about watching the sun dip below the horizon over the lake. As the day winds down, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant hues - fiery oranges and reds, soft pinks, and deep purples blending together in perfect harmony.

Recently, my husband and I saw a red glow in the sky and we hustled down to Lake Michigan to see the sky on fire. It was an amazing sight. The local neighbors gathered at the bluff to overlook the beach and as the last rays of the sun dipped below the horizon, they applauded. 

I loved this. It was obvious that this was a regular activity for the neighborhood as everyone stood around chatting with their glasses of evening wine. But taking a little time each evening to pause and enjoy the end of the day and even applauding the ordinary, can make the day extraordinary.

They remind me to slow down, appreciate nature’s beauty, and savor the simple pleasures life offers. So the next time you have the chance, pause and enjoy a sunset on the lake. It’s a small act that can bring profound joy and tranquility to your day.
